Winery Exchange was founded in 1999 with headquarters in Novato, California, USA. We maintain regional sales offices around the United States and international offices in the United Kingdom and Spain.

The company was founded with the intent of melding together extensive industry expertise with cutting edge business practices. The result is a dynamic, fast growing company poised to take advantage of new trends in the beverage alcohol industry.

Major Milestones:

  • In October 2002, Winery Exchange launched Origin, our first multi-country brand – 16 varietals from 5 countries launched simultaneously.

  • In November 2004, we launched our first spirit private label brand – Origine Vodka, Origine VS Cognac, Origine VSOP Cognac, Origine 12 Year Old Highland Scotch.

  • In June 2005, Winery Exchange launched its World Brews subsidiary focused on developing and managing private label and national brand beers. World Brews became the exclusive importer for latin beer brands produced by Industrias La Constancia from El Salvador. Brands include Cantina, San Lucas, Caguama, Taurino, Santiago, Caballo, Cabana, Del Mar, Pilsener, Rialto, Regia, and Suprema.

  • In June 2006, Winery Exchange/World Brews launched RJ King Wingwalker – our first domestic microcraft beer.

  • In October 2006, we launched our first Dutch private label beer brand – Gouden Haven.

  • In November 2006, we launched Ogio, an Italian Pinot Grigio. It is one of the top 5 Pinot Grigio brands in the UK.

  • In July 2007, we launched our first national wine brand – Solemar.

  • In September 2007, Winery Exchange/World Brews became the exclusive importer of the Bavaria, Hollandia, Dutch Windmill and Dutch Crown national beer brands.


During 2006 Winery Exchange/World Brews shipped over 2,000,000 cases of wine, beer, and spirits to the United States and global markets

Winery Exchange is a venture-backed company. Our investors include VCFA Group, D.E. Shaw & Co., Charter Ventures, Camden Partners, and Startup Capital Ventures.
